Account & Registration
How do I create an account?
- Download the Munara app or visit our website
- Click "Sign Up"
- Enter your email or use Google OAuth
- Create a password
- Verify your email
Can I use Munara without an account?
No, you need an account to donate or claim items. This helps us maintain community trust and track your impact.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page. Enter your email and we'll send reset instructions.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. Note: This removes your profile but your donations history remains for impact tracking.
Donating Items
What items can I donate?
Most usable items are welcome:
- Furniture (in good condition)
- Electronics (working)
- Clothing and accessories
- Books and media
- Kitchen items
- Sports equipment
- And more!
What items can't I donate?
We cannot accept:
- Broken items that aren't repairable
- Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals)
- Items with mold or severe damage
- Stolen or counterfeit goods
- Medical equipment
Is there a minimum value for donations?
No, all donations are free. We believe everything has value to someone.
Can I donate large items like furniture?
Yes! Many donors offer furniture. Include dimensions and photos showing size.
How many items can I list?
As many as you like. There is no limit.
How long will it take to find a taker?
Varies by item and location. Popular items (furniture, electronics) often find homes within days.
Claiming Items
How do I claim an item?
- Find an item you want
- Click "I Want This"
- Wait for donor confirmation
- Coordinate pickup
- Confirm receipt in app
Is there a limit to how many items I can claim?
No, but be reasonable. Claim only items you genuinely intend to pick up.
What if the item doesn't match the photos?
You are not obligated to accept. Inspect before taking and communicate any issues.
Can I negotiate the price?
All donations on Munara are free. If a donor asks for payment, report them.
Pickup & Delivery
Who is responsible for pickup?
Usually the recipient. Some donors offer delivery within their area.
Can I use Munara for delivery services?
No, we don't provide delivery services. Pickup is arranged between users.
What if I can't pick up an item?
Communicate with the donor as soon as possible. Most are understanding.
What happens if I don't pick up on time?
Communicate delays immediately. Repeated no-shows may affect your account standing.
Safety & Trust
Is Munara safe?
We take safety seriously:

How do I know I can trust users?
Our rating and review system helps. Also:
- Read reviews before interacting
- Use SafeSwap locations when possible
- Trust your instincts

- Decline the transaction
- Never feel obligated to continue
Are there safe meeting locations?
Yes! We have SafeSwap zones:
- Selected police stations

Payments & Fees
Does Munara charge fees?
No, using Munara is completely free for both donors and claimers.
Can I pay for delivery or special services?
This is between you and the donor. We don't facilitate payments.
What about tips or thank-you payments?
Optional and between users. We don't facilitate these transactions.
Impact & Environment
How is my environmental impact calculated?
We use lifecycle assessment methodology:
- CO2 prevented from manufacturing
- Resources saved from not producing new
- Transport emissions calculated
- Landfill space saved
Where can I see my impact?
In the app: Profile > My Impact
Is my impact data private?
Yes, your impact is private unless you choose to share it.
Troubleshooting
An item I wanted is no longer available
The donor likely marked it as unavailable. Browse for similar items.
I'm not receiving messages
Check:
- Notification settings
- Spam folder
- Your internet connection
The app is crashing
Try:
- Updating the app
- Restarting your device
- Clearing app cache
I can't upload photos
Check:
- Image size (max 10MB)
- Format (JPG, PNG)
- Your internet connection
