How to List an Item for Donation

Creating a good listing is key to finding your item a new home quickly. Follow this guide for the best results.
Before You List
Check Your Item
Before creating a listing:
- Is it clean?
- Does it work (if applicable)?
- Are all parts included?
- Is it safe to use?
- Do you have photos ready?
What You Can Donate
✅ Accepted items:
- Furniture in good condition
- Electronics that work
- Clothing and accessories
- Books and media
- Kitchen items
- Sports equipment
- And more!
❌ Cannot accept:
- Broken items (unless craftable)
- Hazardous materials
- Items with mold or severe damage
- Counterfeit goods
Creating Your Listing
Step 1: Start New Listing
Click the "+" button, then select "Donate Item"
Step 2: Choose Category
Select the most accurate category:
- Furniture
- Electronics
- Clothing
- Books & Media
- Kitchen
- Sports & Outdoors
- Other
Step 3: Add Photos
Required: At least 3 photos Recommended: Up to 8 photos
Photo tips:
- Main photo: Item clean and in good lighting
- Side view: Show proportions
- Detail shots: Close-ups of features
- Any flaws: Document honestly
- Measurements: Include for furniture
Step 4: Write Description
Include:
- Item name and brand
- Size/dimensions (for furniture)
- Color and material
- Condition (excellent/good/fair)
- Any special features
- Reason for donating
Step 5: Set Location
- Your neighborhood/city
- For pickup logistics
- Helps recipients plan
Step 6: Choose Pickup Options
- Recipient picks up (most common)
- Will deliver (specify radius)
- Use collection point

Photo Checklist
- At least 3 clear photos

Managing Your Listing
After Posting
- Check for messages daily
- Respond within 24 hours

Marking as Reserved
When someone claims your item:
- Update status to "Reserved"
- Confirm pickup time
- Remove other interest
- Mark "Completed" after handoff
If Item Doesn't Get Claimed
- Lower the priority in search results by refreshing
